About Our Church
Keepers of Knowledge
The ministerial leadership team will keep and share knowledge regarding the sacrament, ceremonies and rituals to the members of Divine Science Society.
Ceremonies and Rituals
The ceremonies held by Divine Science Society shall be in accordance with the direction of the specific leader conducting the ceremony. Ceremonial structure should include an initial prayer or blessing, the offering of the sacrament to the participants, the receipt and consumption of sacrament by participants, and a closing prayer or blessing.
Ministers and Stewards
The ministers and stewards shall be responsible for general oversight of the organization, oversight of ceremonies and rituals, and shall be responsible for safe and appropriate handling of the sacrament. Ministers and stewards are expected to set an example for the members with their spiritual, professional and personal lives.
Holidays
Divine Science Society cultivates our relationship with the earth and marks the seasons of the world and our lives by honoring the solstices and equinoxes. Divine Science Society recognizes that members have diverse religious backgrounds and family practices and encourages and supports members’ celebration of any holidays that further their spiritual development.
Appearance and Clothing
There is no specific uniform or dress code for members, however, during ceremony, ministers and stewards, and participating members should wear clothing appropriate for the community and the sacredness of the occasion.
Propagation
Divine Science Society believes that the spiritually fulfilled and purpose driven lives of its members is the best advertisement for the organization. We intend to attract members through example. We disavow the use of guilt, shame or coercion to increase membership.
Sacrament Handling and Records
Divine Science Society shall maintain strict requirements relating to sacrament handling and record keeping. The requirements shall be enforced with the goal of preventing controlled substances being diverted to non-religious use. Authority to handle the sacrament shall be carefully restricted and records shall be carefully maintained to account for all controlled substances at all times.
